Beck grew up in foster care, aging out at 18. At 22 he found himself incarcerated. After nearly a year in jail and no support systems in place, he turned to a career specialist at the American Job Center to get his life back on track. After assessing Beck’s situation and determining he had no place to go, the specialist referred Beck to A Place to Stay. Through careful collaboration between A Place to Stay, the American Job Center, PIVOT TN, Monte Vista Baptist Church, a sheltering organization, donations for food, a free phone, and a few other resources, Beck is now sheltered and doing well. Thank you, Blount County and Partners! Beck has a new start with a healthy social support system in place.
